Your First 30 Days at Joyner

Your first month at Joyner is about more than getting access to systems — it is about building the foundation for a long, successful career here. Here is what to expect week by week, and what you should prioritize in each phase of your onboarding.

Day 1
Activate Systems & Get Oriented
Activate your Microsoft 365 account, receive your ID badge, set up your company device, and complete payroll setup (direct deposit and W-4). Meet your manager and team, and get your workspace configured. Your welcome email contains your temporary credentials.
Week 1
Complete Required Training
Log into Joyner University and complete your assigned onboarding modules — Ethics & Compliance, Workplace Safety, and any role-specific certifications. Enroll in your benefits within your 30-day window. Explore Joyner One and bookmark the pages most relevant to your role.
Week 2
Learn the Tools & Workflows
Get up to speed on the tools specific to your role — TMS, Ryde, freight systems, or corporate platforms depending on your division. Attend your first team meetings, ask questions, and start building familiarity with how your team operates. Use Guide for quick answers to process questions.
Week 3
Connect & Get Involved
Explore Joyner's Employee Resource Groups and join one that aligns with your interests. Check out the Mentoring Program if you would like a senior associate to help guide your first year. Introduce yourself to colleagues across teams — Joyner is a collaborative place and relationships matter.
Day 30
30-Day Check-In with Your Manager
At the 30-day mark, you and your manager will have a formal check-in to discuss your onboarding experience, answer any open questions, review your initial performance, and set goals for your first 90 days. This is a two-way conversation — come prepared with questions and feedback of your own.

Who to Contact for What

As a new associate, you will have a lot of questions. Here is a quick reference for who handles what so you always know where to go first.

Facilities

Credentials & ID Badging

Your official Joyner ID badge is required for gate check-in at all hub facilities. Allow 3–5 business days for processing.
1

Submit Your Badge Request

Use the Request Services form on Joyner One to submit your ID badge request. Include your full legal name, department, hub location, and a recent headshot (JPG, min 300x300px).

2

HR Approval

Your manager and HR will approve the request within 1–2 business days. You will receive an email confirmation once approved.

3

Badge Production & Pickup

Your 30-mil PVC badge will be produced and available for pickup at your primary hub location within 3–5 business days of approval. Admin Services will notify you when it is ready.

4

Safety Gear

Payroll

Direct Deposit & Tax Forms

Set up your direct deposit and complete your tax withholding forms before your first pay period to ensure timely payment.
1

Log Into the Pay Portal

Access your pay and payroll settings through the Compensation & Pay page on Joyner One. Use your M365 SSO to authenticate.

2

Enter Your Bank Details

You will need your bank's routing number and your account number. You can set up multiple accounts (e.g. checking + savings split).

3

Complete Your W-4

Full-time and part-time employees must complete a W-4 (Employee's Withholding Certificate). This determines federal tax withholding from your paycheck.

4

1099 Contractors — Complete W-9

If you are a 1099 sales agent or contractor, complete a W-9 instead of a W-4. Submit it to finance@myjoyner.com before your first assignment.

5

Confirm Your Pay Schedule

Review the current pay schedule on the Compensation & Pay page to know your first expected pay date and pay cycle (bi-weekly or semi-monthly depending on your role).
