Joyner is a tobacco-free, electronic cigarette-free, and smoke-free workplace. The use of tobacco products, marijuana, and electronic-cigarettes is prohibited in all Joyner vehicles, buildings, and grounds, including parking lots and garages. Guidance will be provided by the local property manager for areas that are not under the care and control of Joyner.
This policy applies to any individual on Joyner premises including employees, external associates, vendors and visitors.
Employees should contact Safety & Insurance Services (S&I) with concerns about smoking marijuana for medical reasons.
Employees are expected to use good judgment and exercise the highest degree of integrity in conducting Joyner's business. The Open Door policy may be utilized to express concerns regarding observed violations to the Tobacco-Free, Electronic Cigarette-Free, and Smoke-Free Workplace policy.
The manager should be knowledgeable about the Tobacco-Free, Electronic Cigarette-Free, and Smoke-Free Workplace policy. Managers, with the assistance of the Performance Support Representative, are responsible for resolving issues associated with this policy.
Managers should address a violation of this policy as a performance issue and may reference the Performance Management policy and the Code of Conduct as additional resources.
The Performance Support Representative should be knowledgeable about this policy and should assist management through situations pertaining to the potential policy violation.
