USA Operations Centers Company ID Badge Policy May 2017
Not Applicable
This policy addresses the use of identification badges that provide key card access to the building and in some cases secure areas for employees and contingent workers on site. Failure to adhere to this policy will lead to further disciplinary action including termination of employment. It is the duty of Joyner to keep its employees and visitors safe and free from unauthorized persons and to protect sensitive and private information of the company and its customers.
Identification Badges
Employees must display photo identification badges, on their person, at or above the waist and badges must be kept clearly visible at all times. Displaying in a clearly visible manner includes keeping the identification badge facing forward and worn on the front of the person.
Tailgating and Piggybacking Tailgating and piggybacking are strictly prohibited. Tailgating occurs when someone passes through an access-controlled door, following a valid card read of another person. Piggybacking is purposefully allowing someone to pass through an access-controlled door while using the authorized person's card read.
If your identification badge is lost or stolen, you must obtain a replacement. Lost or stolen cards should be reported to Human Resources as soon as possible. Failure to wear your ID badge or excessive loss or damage to cards can lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Upon termination of employment at Joyner, employees, contract employees and associates will be required to return ID badges to Human Resources as part of the Exit Interview.
Contractors and Temporary Staff Contractors and temporary staff with assignments of 4 or more weeks will be issued a photo ID badge. Those with a shorter assignment may be issued a Joyner, ID badge without a photo. Access to additional secured areas will be addressed on a case by case basis. Contractors and Temporary ID badges must be worn on the issued lanyard around the neck at all times while on campus.
Temporary and contractor employees are required to return ID badges to Human Resources on their last day of employment at Joyner.
