The Birthday recognition is a tradition at Joyner. For years, employees have celebrated birthdays for leadership, but Joyner has turned the tables and began the tradition of giving each employee a rose on the employee's birthday. As we adapted to changes to our structures and work environments, birthday roses were no longer distributed in 2018. Birthday recognition continues today with each employee receiving a birthday card.

The supervisor presents the birthday card to the employee.
Procedures
The department secretary requests the birthday list from HREC.
The supervisor presents the birthday card to the employee.
Birthday Cards
The department secretary orders a supply of birthday cards for the department He/she may obtain a card from HREC in an emergency.
A day or two before the birthday, the department secretary gives a card to the employee's supervisor. The supervisor has the employee's management and co-workers sign the card.
The supervisor gives the card to the employee on the employee's birthday.
Birthday Cards
Human Resources orders cards and keeps a supply on hand in case a secretary needs one at the last minute.
